About Me
I am from New Brighton, Pennsylvania - about 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. My interest in athletics came from my dad as I grew up on the sidelines and in the dugout behind him, a former collegiate baseball player turned baseball and football coach. As a child in a sports family does, I became an athlete at a young age beginning with soccer, gymnastics, basketball, and softball. As I got older, I decided to stick with softball and basketball in the midst of moving to my mom's hometown of Dillon, South Carolina. After moving, I added on volleyball and soon after dropped basketball due to a spinal injury. I continued to play softball and volleyball throughout my high school years while receiving multiple All-State, All-Region, and Defensive MVP awards, which all aided in me earning scholarship offers to play volleyball in college.
My spinal injury ended up being a lot worse than expected. After a final diagnosis of a permanent spinal condition that has no fix, I was told I had to medically retire from playing sports. Giving up something that was such a big part of my life was hard, but it led me to choose a career that could keep me around the things I loved - but this time on the sidelines instead of on the court and field.
After high school, I decided to attend Clemson University to major in Communication and minor in Athletic Leadership. During my sophomore through senior years as a student at Clemson, I had a Social Media and Communications internship working around Clemson's Football, Baseball, and Basketball teams, as well as an opportunity to work with the Cam Newton Foundation and their 7v7 Football teams. While at Clemson, I also went through programs through the NFHS to become certified in Coaching Football, Coaching Softball, Coaching Baseball, Coaching Adapted Sports, and Strength and Conditioning.
In December of 2020, I graduated a semester early from Clemson University with recognition on both the Dean's and President's list during my last two semesters. After graduation, I moved to Nashville, TN where I accepted a job as an Event Coordinator for Alliance Sport Marketing. After leaving Nashville in April of 2022, I relocated to Charlotte, NC where I worked for the Charlotte Knights (AAA) Minor League Baseball Team as a Guest Services Representative and Receptionist. When the Charlotte Knights' baseball season ended in September of 2022, I accepted a job with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) where I am currently working as the Division I Athletic Communications Associate.
